Hiya folks!
I think I've started to get some stuff up and running from the manager POV. The first four chapters for MM1 have been created, as well as the segments (meaning the "drop box"-type thing for each character in each chapter.) This is where all actors will be uploading their recorded lines to. Now you're asking yourself, how do you do this? It's QUITE simple!
Directions for uploading lines:
1. Click "My To-Do" under "Actor Toolbox"
2. Click on the segment that you are going to be adding lines to (i.e., the correct chapter.)
3. Click "Edit" (located at the top of the page)
Oops. As AniDragon noted, avatars didn't work. That was easily-enough fixed, but reminded me I should check to be sure that sound files can be uploaded. So, here's an excerpt of a short story I read recently.
Well, I guess this site is now complete enough to start registration and gathering feedback from other project members, so here it goes.
What's Views2? Why would you want to embed it? I've got it working now, so you don't have to know, but if you're curious....
Open a chapter node. It doesn't matter which one. See the list of segments in the chapter? That's an embedded view. Keep it open, because this is a story about how that embedded view got there.
...and I have seen a vision of how this site should work.
As I mentioned earlier, the whole point of the web site is to keep track of what needs to be done. Sure, if you navigate to the site but don't log in you can read production notes and link to releases and such.
But when you log in, well:
Today is 3 Jan 2009. Right now, I'm running a prototype of the RAFABP website (just rolls of the tongue, no?) on my computer. This might just become the final site, in which case this will be the oldest post.
